David Sedaris Live! - Handmade in the Heartland

David Sedaris Live!

Last night we went to the Midland Theater in the power and light district for "an evening with David Sedaris". David is my favorite author- he wrote Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress your family in corduroy and Denim, holidays on ice, naked, and his most recent is When you are engulfed in flames, ALL of them are HILARIOUS reads. I mean you find yourself falling out of your seat laughing. seriously. And last night was no exception- i didn't have very high hopes, i thought he might just read from one of his published books and to be honest i really didn't think i would get to meet him- which is why i was completely un-prepared and didn't take my entire collection of books. Well boy was i wrong, not only was he so funny but he read things that were completely new non-published stories and he stayed after and signed books- which meant i needed to buy one, so i bought the only one i haven't read yet- Barrell Fever. When we walked up to the table the lady introduced us as Angela and "friend" and i said "Hi i am Angela and this is my husband Matt" he took one look at me and said "Wow you're too young to be married" -which led to conversation, which led to the below signature in my book. If you have never picked up one of his books i highly reccomend doing so :)The Midland is a gorgeous 1930's theater, which is also very dark and doesn't photograph well from an iphone...
