So i have been a little bit of a book worm lately, there is just something about it being so cold outside that i want to curl up cozy inside a blanket, with a cup of hot chocolate and read! In the last week i read 3 books! that was my goal for the entire month! i really enjoyed all three- here they are.
The Hunger Games is our book club book for January- i thought it was very entertaining and engaging, but you can def. tell it's written for a younger audience, but a fast and thrilling read nonetheless.I LOVED The Glass Castle. I am still perplexed by how Jeannette Walls has so much compassion for parents who were really quite terrible at times, and I'm excited to hear her live on January 7th when she comes to Kansas City on a book tour for her new book which i just bought and am about to start!
Water for Elephants was a fun read. The author did tons of research about circus life in American during the 20's-30's which is the setting for this novel, and i was happy to read the author's note at the end where she said that a lot of the stories about the elephant and other things that happen in the book are actual real events that are documented from the time period. I would recommend all three books.
