4 little Nieces... - Handmade in the Heartland

4 little Nieces...

Last Wednesday our house went from the two of us to max capacity with 9 people! (well 4 of them were under 7 yrs old) 2 of Matt's siblings and their kids were in town for a fun little KC vacation. As you can imagine i had the entire trip planned with fun things for our four little nieces, and by the time they were all gone on Sunday morning i was just a little bit exhausted, but well worth it.

We picked Matt's sister Michelle & her two girls up at the airport (they came in from Utah) and went out to eat at Bravo in zona rosa, then headed back to our house where the girls had a great time playing with the pups. They don't have any pets so it was a new experience, and they had fun the entire trip playing with Jack & Jill.

Matt's brother Jeff & his wife Cynthia, along with their two little girls arrived later on Wednesday night driving from Minnesota where Jeff is in Residency. Thursday morning we got up had breakfast and then headed over to historic Liberty Jail. Liberty Jail is where Joseph Smith, the 1st prophet of our church, was wrongfully imprisoned, and the church has taken the site and made it into a really wonderful exhibit.

The only pictures little Al likes to take are the silly ones!

We then headed over to Crown Center Mall and ate at Fritz's railroad restaurant where the food is brought to you on a train track high above your head and then lowered down. It was quite the experience- Little Maddie thought it was the best thing ever, she kept yelling "TRAIN! TRAIN!" and pointing at it going around. We had never been here before and I wouldn't recommend this place if you don't have little ones, the burgers and fries are just average, but for the experience its not bad, and its really cheap.

As you can see we did lots of eating and i couldn't pass up taking these cute little girls to my favorite cupcake shop in KC, Cupcake A La Mode. They Loved it!

On Friday we went to Oklahoma Joe's for lunch, in our opinion it's KC's best BBQ.

Friday morning i took the two older nieces with me right when we woke up to Donut King and we picked out a dozen donuts for everyone. Again one of my favorite sweets in the metro, and right now they have a pumpkin donut that is just delish!

There was lots of holding the newest niece, Jeff & Cynth's little one who arrived in June, and when Michelle and the girls had to leave on Saturday our 7 year old shed tears and said she was just going to miss baby Audri sooo much.

Little Baby and Dad, She was so smiley the whole trip and SUCH a good baby. i can only pray that our little bean will be as good. :)

Friday morning after breakfast we headed down south to the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. I had heard that this is the place to go with kids and it did not dissapoint. It was SO cute and so many fun animals to see and pet and play with, we were there for a good 2 hours playing with the girls. I highly reccomend taking your kids- and it's FREE M-Thursday and only $2 F-S. You just can't beat it.

You get to feed baby goats with a bottle!

After a BBQ lunch we headed to the brand new American Girl store in Oak Park mall, it is such a cute store and the girls had such a fun time looking at all the cute things. Oak Park mall also has a fun carousel that they loved.

We had SUCH a fun time with everyone and we are looking forward to seeing the rest of the Muir fam. during Thanksgiving!
