KC Finds Fridays: Natasha's Mulberry & Mott - Handmade in the Heartland

KC Finds Fridays: Natasha's Mulberry & Mott

I really love a good bakery and although my love for France is complicated i am truly devoted to all french pastries and baking, especially macarons. (you can see my own macaron baking journey here) As far as i know there are only 2 places in Kansas City that make macarons.  Bloom in the city market and then Natasha's Mulberry & Mott on the plaza.  A few weeks ago we stumbled upon this little bakery that has been on my list to visit for more than a couple months, but honestly its small and unassuming and theres no telling how many times i have walked or driven right past it and never even noticed this little gem of a find.  We happened to park in the parking garage that is right next to it and as we walked out of the garage we saw the beautiful window in the picture below and realized that we had to go inside.  From the beautiful gift boxes, to the cookies, macarons, chandeliers and pictures covering the walls you are transported to Paris in the best way.  Here are a few photos.

I highly recommend the macarons, the meltaway cookies and the sugar cookies.  I have to go back to try the home made "pop tarts" which looked delicious and the freshly made marshmallows that looked perfectly decadent.  I would also love to try some of their handmade ice cream, one of the flavors was a fresh sweet corn which i'm sure would be wonderful, the nice woman behind the counter was raving about the ice cream.  So if you are down on the plaza looking for a nice sweet finish to your evening, skip coldstone and head down to Natasha's, you won't be disappointed.  (It's just down from forever 21)
