I have to tell you that my kids were home with the babysitter and they watched it live, Max (who is 2 1/2) turned to Ali when the segment was over and said "So proud of my mom!" -- what a cute kid. :)
When I make cookies I always bake them on my Silpat and Perforated Baking Sheet! See THIS post for all the reasons I love my Silpats!
Check out the video of how to make these guys! So fun! Couldn't you just sit and watch these videos all day?!
Halloween treats are some of my favorite to make, everyone gets so festive in October!
These are the perfect spider cookies for Halloween! Use my favorite peanut butter cookie recipe and decorate them like spiders and everyone will love them!
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla For Decorating:
- candy eyes
- pull & peel twirlers
- chocolate icing
- Preheat the oven to 350. Stir together dry ingredients. In a mixer cream butter, shortening, and peanut butter until smooth. Add the sugars and keep mixing until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, and then vanilla. Add flour in two parts and mix until combined.
- Shape dough into balls and place an inch apart on a silpat lined cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. When you take them out place a rolo in the center of each cookie. Using chocolate icing as a "glue" place your eyes on the rolo and then 6 pulled apart licorice pieces as the legs.
