Who doesn't love a good taco? I for one love a really well executed thought out taco with ingredients I wouldn't think of or want to make at home and Taco Republic delivers. First of all I have to say the vibe of the restaurant is great, I love love love the patio- its huge and just where you want to be on a beautiful spring day. the decor is well thought out, colorful and fun. That large marquis taco sign is one of my favorite elements of the restaurant. I actually went twice in 24 hours, which is honestly pretty funny- I never do that! We went out with another couple for date night on Friday and then on Saturday when a friends birthday lunch location ended up being closed I suggested taco republic. That has to tell you that its pretty great if I'm willing to eat it 2 times in one day!
So for dinner friday I had the flautitas- which are taquitos that are deep fried and come with an avacado sauce on top and then queso dipping sauce, they were really good but i'm pretty sure i enjoyed my tacos for lunch more. That night at dinner Matt had the papi, tocino & camarones and said that the camarones (shrimp, cilantro lime aioli & pickled onions) was his favorite, so at lunch I made sure to order it & the cochinita pibil (sweeter pork with purple onions). You can see the entire menu HERE. For lunch with friends everyone seemed happy with their meals a few of my friends ordered the Buena Terra (fried hearts of palm (contains gluten), salsa golf, avocado, cilantro) and loved it.
So if you need a cool place to hang out with friends, have a great meal and don't want to break the bank (at $3 a taco its almost as cheap as fast food!) then head on over to Taco Republic. Check out their instagram for a daily does of "i want some tacos now!". :)
