For this version of travel eats I take you to Monterey Bay California to the most adorable little crepe place on the fisherman's warf. One of the mornings during our weekend getaway I woke up to a nice morning by myself while Matt was playing a round of golf. I decided to head out and find something delicious to eat, because basically food is always the first thing I think about. I had already browsed urbanspoon so I knew that this little crepe shop- Crepes of Brittany- was calling to me. Oh man, If the pictures don't entice you let me just tell you that I enjoyed one of the best savory crepes I've ever had.
The owner is clearly french and I mean what else would he be wearing than a boatneck striped tee?! The little shop is on the pier on the fisherman's ward with a few tables inside and a few tables out on the dock. Its charming and delicious and everything I wanted on a leisurely solo morning excursion.
The savory crepe I ordered was made with a buckwheat crust (which was so good) and filled with eggs, cheese and spinach, the perfect combo for a light breakfast. I meant to go back to get a nutella filled sweet one but never did make it back. It was a busy Saturday morning however I was surprised at how quickly they whipped those babies out.
After enjoying my crepe on the dock in the glorious 70 degree weather I walked around the pier and snapped some photos. I don't know about you but being a mom of toddlers it was the most perfect morning just walking around by myself with no where to be. ahhhmazing. Every mom deserves that every once in a while!
If you've never been to Monterey Bay & Carmel area in California I high recommend you go. Its gorgeous and relaxing and a great place to getaway for a few days or longer.
