Gift Giving Season & Great Giveaway! - Handmade in the Heartland

Gift Giving Season & Great Giveaway!

This morning I went on fox4kc and participated in a blogger gift wrap challenge.  I love this time of year and I love to give gifts, I especially love to make handmade gifts and wrap gifts creatively!

Gift wrapping with brown kraft paper

This year I'm still loving craft paper, you might remember my post from last year, it is so cheap and you don't have to worry about matching ribbons to paper- everything goes with kraft paper! Honestly it makes wrapping way easier because it looks cute to write right on the paper with chalk pen of who the recipient is, you can skip a few gift tags.  I also love using washi tape and letting it show on the outside is fun!

We all know that photo gifts are top on most parents and grandparents lists and so why not add photos to your wrapping? I made these fun and easy gift tags by just cutting out a few photos and mounting them on cut card stock.  I used my Cricut explore to cut the card stock to the shape I wanted, glue sticked the photos onto the paper and then punched a whole for the ribbon at the top.  Super easy and something fun to keep after the gift un-wrapping is finished.  Everyone loves pictures of their grandkids so I will mostly be putting these tags on gifts for them.

We could all use a little extra cash at the holidays, am I right? Well coupons.com is giving away $100 a week! The Good Stuff 2014 Holiday Sweepstakes will run from December 8th - December 25th and each week a lucky winner will get a $100 amazon gift card and one grand prize winner will get a $500 amazon gift card! awesome! I know I've been doing a lot of my shopping on amazon- its so much easier to click than drag myself out searching around stores.

Coupons.com also has some great gift guides to check out including budget-friendly gifts, gifts for enthusiasts & hostess gifts.  I hate it when I have a person on my list I can't think of a gift for, trolling the internet for great gift guides has been such a lifesaver!
