Hey friends! I’m excited to share some fun gift wrap ideas with you today.  On Monday i went on KCLive and did a segment about gift wrap and, yes, i know its Thursday (its been a busy week) i’m finally getting all of these photos up for you to see.  With Christmas less than a week away i know many of us will be furiously wrapping gifts this weekend.  This year i used a lot of brown kraft paper, its so cheap and so great to decorate and personalize, i love that i finally found something fabulous to do with washi tape since i basically have been hoarding it for a while ;), red & white bakers twine, plain kraft paper gift tags and the wonderful chalk markers. What are your favorite gift wrap ideas this year?

I love personalizing gifts and if you have some type of craft cutter (i used my silhouette) cutting out names is a snap.  I cut the letters out of Christmas scrapbooking paper and then used a glue stick to adhere them, i finished the gift off with some super skinny red ribbon.

The circle garland that adorns this package is very easy to make, using a 1″ and 2″ circle whole punch i cut out scrapbooking paper circles.  I then layed out my bakers twine and sandwiched it in between two circles with glue stick in the middle to connect it all.  i alternated sizes and paper in a patter i liked.

Instead of just using clear tape i pulled out my collection of washi and used it, i love the way it looks on the kraft paper, but i also looks great on christmas printed wrapping paper as well! no more worries about hiding the tape 🙂

Ok i’m so in love with aqua and red together and this package just makes me happy :).  I was super excited to order custom gift wrap from minted.com and then pairing that with the red & white chevron ribbon and the kraft paper gift tag i made is perfect! To make the glitter letter gift tag I used a chipboard letter with the initial of the recipient, sprayed with with spray adhesive and then sprinkled the glitter on top.  Because i hate shedding glitter i quickly sprayed it with clear spray paint to seal it down, after that i used a glue stick to adhere it to the tag.
There are lots more photos so keep reading!

For this little kraft paper package i painted a chipboard letter gold and used gold washi tape to add some interest. Simple and cute!

Another idea for kraft paper- just wrapping with bakers twine and adding a cute gift tag is simple but sweet.

One of my favorite things about kraft paper is how the chalk markers look on it.  So you can create your own prints and designs, you could have your kids draw something or like i did just draw a cute “frame” to put the to & from info in.

If you are using any gift bags on of my favorite tricks is to punch 2 holes on the top of the bag and weave ribbon through, this seals it to stop “peekers” and looks cute!

I really love grosgrain and satin ribbons, i actually bought that striped ribbon for a fourth of july craft that never came to fruition and look how perfect it is with 2 candy canes to top off this gift.  If you haven’t noticed so far i love clean, simple, but pretty gift wrap 🙂

Here is another gift wrapped in the personalized minted.com paper, this time i topped it with a pom pom trim bow and a washi tape flag banner.  I made the little banner by folding silver washi tape over thin twine and then cutting a triangle out of the bottom of each one.  I varied the sizes for added cuteness.

This might be one of my favorite packages and papers of all time. Seriously who would have thought you could make personalized wrapping paper with photos on it?! Since the paper is so stinkin’ cut i just wrapped it with some small twine and called it done.

These two gifts use a strip of fabric to add some print and color to the packaging, for the large one i topped it of with fabric ribbon and the smaller one with twine. Make your own gift tags using your 2″ whole punch and Christmas scrapbooking paper- punch out a circle then with a regular size whole punch make a whole for the ribbon to go through and your done!

I love the target dollar spot, don’t you? Thats where i found these cute little printed ribbons, the only problem was they are cut to short lengths so either you use them on super small presents or i used them for this ribbon weaving technique.  Just weave your ribbons and attach them with tape on the back of the gift.  I used another chipboard letter that i painted red above and added a candy cane below.

Merry Christmas everyone! I really do love giving gifts to those who mean so much to us this time of year, and making the packaging look pretty is fun too 🙂
