Weeknight Pasta with Jarred Spaghetti Sauce Hack
- 1 Jar red pasta sauce
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup basil pesto
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 lb pasta
- Over medium heat in a large stock pot sautee your diced onion and garlic until the onion is translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until completely browned. Add the pasta sauce, pesto, sugar and red wine. Let simmer for 30 minutes to an hour, until the flavors meld and it reduces some. This is a great recipe to hide some healthy ingredients in, last night i tossed in 2 shredded carrots and 1 bell pepper chopped small. Cook the pasta while the sauce is reducing according to package directions. Serve sauce over pasta, warm. Enjoy!
