Donut Hole Acorns

Doughnut Hole Acorns

Wow, It’s November, is it just me or do the years go by much faster as you get older? Oh and by the way i’ve decided i kind of hate the day after Halloween, Max was a freaking crazy person, seriously all that sugar and staying up late and then the next day he still got up at 6:00am. We had a tantrum that lasted literally an hour, every time i would go back into his room to see if he was “ready to be nice” he would start freaking out all over again, and then 1/2 an hour after that he was sitting eating lunch telling me he was a happy boy. The only plus was that he took a 3 hour nap which never happens, and geez he needed it!

Anyway, back to November. I am a big fan of the end of the year, i feel like if its going to be winter and cold that celebrating wonderful fun filled holidays are the best things to do indoors. I’m totally making my shopping lists and i already bought some of Max’s gifts- he’s been having a lot of fun dressing up in his Halloween costume so i went the day after Halloween to several stores and bought a bunch of costumes on clearance to make a “dress up” box for him for Christmas.   I’m hoping to do a lot of handmade gifts this year (although i say that every year, this year i mean it!) and since i don’t want to spoil the surprise for those receiving gifts i’m planning on sharing a bunch of craft tutorials in January.  In the mean time my mom and i have been busy whipping up lots of fun treats for you to make and share this holiday season! Lets kick november off right with a doughnut hole treat.

Doughnut Hole Acorns

How do you make a doughnut hole better? Well just add melted chocolate and heath bar pieces.  🙂 To make these little goodies dip your doughnut holes in melted chocolate and then in a bowl of heath pieces.  Let them dry on wax paper and stick a pretzel stick in the end for the stem.  I think they would be the perfect treat for a saturday morning breakfast or an after school snack.  Happy Monday its a new week to make things happen!
