Halloween Silhouette Pitcher & Cake Stand

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, its just fun.  I made these great serving pieces that are so simple to add a little decor to your halloween table.  I used the cricut explore, and actually both the cake stand and the pitcher are entries for the cricut design space star competition this month!  This project is so easy it will literally take you less than an hour and the best part is when Halloween is over you can remove the vinyl stickers and have your pitcher or cake stand back for everyday use. Keep reading for the full tutorial.

Supplies for Halloween Silhouette Serve ware:
-Serving pieces such as a white pitcher, cake stand or plate
– Black Vinyl
– Cricut Transfer Paper
To make the vinyl stickers to apply to your serve ware you will need to choose an image, I created this skeleton hand and you can download the SVG file HERE.  When you open up the cricut design space you will to go upload image and choose the file.  Upload it and then once you have it in your canvas you will want to go over to the layers menu, I’m not sure why it divides it up into a lot of different layers but you don’t need them all.  So click ungroup at the bottom of the layers menu and then delete all the layers except the bottom one which looks like the entire hand. Then resize the hand to the size that you want to cut out, measure what you are going to be applying it to and then resize accordingly.  After that turn your dial to vinyl, apply your vinyl to your cutting mat click GO!
Once your hand is cut out you’ll want to remove all the vinyl around the cut out, like the photo above. Then, using the transfer paper transfer the hand to the pitcher.  Use the instructions on the transfer paper and the images below. Its so easy to do and you get great results every time.
To do the cake stand I didn’t use transfer paper I just placed them on like stickers, creating a random pattern.  You can download the bats svg file HERE.
How fun is this cake stand to display the whole month of october?! I was even thinking you could put candles on it and use it as a centerpiece.
These awesome Halloween party projects are all brought to you courtesy of the cricut design space star competition team 11! Check them all out!
