DIY Rustic Wedding Reception with Cricut

Last friday my little brother got married. Since Andrew started dating Taylor we have been seriously thrilled to add her to our family, she is a wonderful person and perfect for my brother! I was so happy to help her create their special day. All the photos in this post were shot by Lindsay Campbell an amazing wedding photographer in Nashville Tennessee.
I’ve partnered with Cricut to bring you lots of fantastic ideas for a DIY rustic wedding reception. This post contains affiliate links which means I make a small commission if you purchase items I recommend.

Guys my Cricut Explore was seriously on overdrive the week before the wedding. I used it for almost everything! Adding personal touches to a wedding is so fun and for Andrew and Taylor’s rustic outdoor wedding I created several signs and this lovely wood palette photo display. not to mention the programs, favors and guest book!
We set this photo display in the reception area so people could stop and see photos from the couple’s years of dating. It was so fun. I chose the quote “welcome to our beginning” to place on the sign at the top of the palette.
I was given a Canon Pixma printer that is honestly the bomb friends. (I was sent the white one and it’s so pretty!) I literally printed everything I needed for the wedding on it! It does pictures so well that they might as well have come strait out of the photo machine at your local target. I used Canon’s photo paper as well for the picture display and seriously the prints were so perfect! I’m a Canon girl and shoot with a Canon 60D and the photographer who took all these photos is also a Canon loyalist!
After I printed out the photos for the display I put some of them into my Cricut explore and did a few fun cut-outs on the pictures.  I cut out their initials as well as a few cute sayings like “Me & You”and “Love You”. If you are thinking you aren’t creative enough to think of such ideas for your wedding you are in luck, Cricut has launched an entire wedding site that gives you thousands of wedding ideas to customize your special day! Go check it out HERE!
For the sign at the top of the palette I just used Cricut white vinyl , cut it out and applied it onto my stained board (found at JoAnns) using the Cricut transfer vinyl. So simple and yet such a personal touch! For more ceremony details click over HERE and to see the favors and more pics of the reception go HERE.
I could honestly sit and stare at these photos all day! The Cricut Explore Air is seriously an amazing tool to have if you are a DIY bride and wanting to add some personal touches to your wedding. Circuit just announced a brand new wedding
I also created some other fun signs that we placed around the reception area like the social media sign above to encourage guests to use their hashtag and the bar menu sign below.
