Wednesday night I had sewing night at my house and Krista came wanting to make a few headbands. After looking at one I had I came up with this easy peesy way to make an elastic headband! it literally takes a total of 15 minutes. Seriously if you have a sewing machine you can make this! I got so motivated by how easy it was that I started cutting out pieces like crazy. Look at the stack below…
One of the best parts about this project is that if you are a crafter you probably have a scrap of fabric somewhere big enough to make this headband- I cut this entire stack using fabric from my scrap bin! how great is that…
1 – 6″ piece of elastic
1 – 15″x 4.5″ piece of fabric
Fold your fabric in half, with the right sides together. Sew together at 1/4″ seam allowance.
Turn it right side out and iron it flat, with the seam in the center.
Place your elastic in the center of the fabric- On the right side (opposite side of the seam)
Fold each edge over the elastic, and put on pin through the center. Do to both sides of fabric/elastic
Sew the folded edges down at 1/4″ seam allowance
Flip right side out.
Hold folded edges flat at the point that you choose- about 2″, and then iron flat.
